I’ve had this TV for about a week now and am very satisfied with my decision thusfar. I researched it for about a month reading reviews on various websites and price checking before purchasing it through Dell. Set up was a breeze….. remote control, wireless connection and adding devices was a snap. The wireless works very well when streaming netflix; some reviews i read stated they had speed issues that created jitters, but i have had no issues thusfar. It can take a minute or so to “load” movies and apps that use the internet at times but not a major issue. The picture quality is top notch – vibrant color, smooth motion and rich blacks. I previously had a 42″ DLP HDTV that I THOUGHT was great, however the picture on the Vizio put it to shame….no comparison. I have a satelite receiver, DVD player, DTV antenna and a desktop PC all connected to the television and use the “digital optical audio out” from the television to my Onkyo receiver. I read a review that stated he couldn’t get true Dolby output to his receiver via the optical connection, when i connected mine this way i had no issues. You DO have to be sure to set the output on the Vizio to “Dolby Digital” rather than “PCM” for it to work properly though. The only cons so far are that it has “locked up” once requiring me to unplug to reset it and once it would display a “pinkish” picture if I changed channels on the satelite. The only way to get it to display correctly was to switch input with the remote from say “HDMI 1″ to “HDMI 2″. The picture then displayed full color. I powered it off and on and the problem went away. These are the only two issues i’ve had and it seems “rebooting” it cleared the problem. This is the only reason I didn’t rate it a “5″. I may go back before my manufacturer’s warranty runs out and by the extended coverage just to cover my bases.

Samsung UN32B6000 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV Review

I got the Samsung UN32B6000 tv because of size and weight issues with the location for installation. After looking at reviews by other buyers on multiple web sites for this and other 32″ LED tvs (of which there are not many), I chose the Samsung and am extremely pleased. I purchased it from Amazon because of a great price and free delivery.

The setup was quite easy, and the picture is amazing. HD output is fantastic, and analog TV sources are much better than I expected. Upconverted DVD content is really good on this set. As with most flat panel televisions, the sound is only adequate. The system does come with a clear voice setting for the sound and that has helped me hear dialog in TV show, DVDs and Blu-Ray movies. Best of all, the clear voice setting allows me to watch sporting events at a much lower volume than my old, analog tv , and that keeps my wife happy.

Installation was quite easy, but buyers should be aware that all connections on the set were quite recessed. I used a low profile wall mount and as a result, adding cables after the initial installation is quite a challenge. Careful pre-installation planning of cable requirements is a must. There are a lot of connections on the set (4 x HDMI, one of which is for an HDMI to DVI cable for use with most HD cable boxes, coax for cable in, 2 USB, ethernet, component and digital audio and a PC connection if you don’t have HDMI output on your PC.)

I use a Samsung BD1590 Blu-Ray player, and the TV and Blu-Ray player are nicely integrated. Turn on the BD player and it automatically turns on the TV and switches input to the proper HDMI input on the TV. It also optimizes the link for best output. Both TV and BD player controllers are consistent in layout and the one from the BD player controls key TV functions like volume, source, channel. Neither controller is a universal controller and as such, you must use the one provided with your cable box to change channels for regular TV viewing.

I was hesitant to buy a LED tv because of the price. But after comparing the bulky looking LCD and plasma, this is much lighter to handle and beautiful to look at and worth the additional cost. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon.com for this product before I bought this TV. A lot of people mentioned something about having problems with images at the corners. I have had the TV for 3 months and have not noticed anything similar to that. The image quality is excellent and the colors are beautiful (specially in the Dynamic setting, the colors are so bright and clear that my eyes start hurting after few minutes of watching. My setting is usually at Standard for watching regular TV programs and ‘movie’ while watching movies.) I didn’t have to make any changes to the TV setting after I removed it from the box. Very easy to setup and has a lot of good features. Have connected my desktop and use it as a PC. So I have not used the infolink features yet. But movies from youtube and other websites are excellent. Very satisfied with the TV. Excellent purchase from Amazon.com with better pricing compared to other retailers. I have only owned the TV for one month. I have tried to really run it through its paces in that time. Most other TV’s I saw and thought of purchasing had at least one issue or another that kept me from buying them. FOR YOUR SAKE DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

PICTURE QUALITY – Fantastic. The colors are vivid and the blacks are deep.
ABILITY TO HANDLE FAST ACTION SCENES – Took some time but I have the settings adjusted to handle any movie, TV show or video game I throw at it. Before numerous adjustments SOME scenes such as heavy smoke, fire,fog, explosions etc. caused the screen to become blocky.
SOUND – No issues. The stock speakers are more than adequate.
STAND – Looks good. Is stable. Easy to attach.
EASE OF USE – This is my first HDTV and I found the menu easy to use and loaded with options. You can really fine tune the TV here.
LOOKS – Not a big deal in my book but this TV looks great.
REMOTE – Not a big deal again. Its a standard remote. No issues.
COST – More expensive than other TV’s however, it’s tried and tested and does not have any outstanding issues that other TV’s on the market have. Only time will tell if the extra couple hundred was worth it.
ISSUES – Most I could fix by adjusting the picture quality. It may be my lack of knowledge but the TruMotion240hz seems useless. When activated it makes the TV unwatchable. When TruMotion is off the TV really is fantastic.

I’ve been researching and saving for this TV for a long time. This TV by far was the best value for my money. I’ve looked at LG, Samsung, Sony, and a few others. I must say that so far I have found nothing to say that is bad about the Toshiba. If anything that I’ve learned so far is that all of the big name brand flat screens are the same. It really boils down to how much money you are willing to spend for the TV. I haven’t been able to really play with the color settings yet and haven’t been able to fully use the 1080p settings yet. DirecTV has screwed up my service since moving and they haven’t solved the problem since I’m paying for HD service and I’m not getting it. I’ve got a feeling that I’m going to dump DirecTV when my contract is up with them and get a package deal from Verizon since I’ve got FiOS internet at my house. The only time that I’ve use the 1080p setting is on my Xbox 360 and so far it has a better picture on my TV then my Brother-in-laws HDTV. Samsung UN55B8500 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV Review

We bought this TV via Amazon during Christmas. Now, after four months of ownership, I can say with full authority that we are glad we own it. I note with satisfaction that the price is currently more than we paid, indicating that the market has spoken in agreement with us.

I studied the market a long time before choosing the Samsung UN55B8500. I almost bought us a Panasonic Kuro plasma, based on expert opinions that the Kuro had the best picture. While that may be true, the image quality of the 8500 is close to the Kuro, and every other quality is far superior. The thin panel and clean design make this TV fit into our clean, modern living room with ease. I mounted it on a wall and hid the wires/cables inside the wall. It is beautiful! It is as flush with the wall as our original paintings which surround it. There are times when I leave an original photograph or set of photos running on a disk in our Oppo bluray player, letting this display become a work of art.

The diminishing contrast off center is much less than some reviews have made it seem. To us, it is a non-issue, and we watch this TV from all over the place, even far off center.

We have had no issues at all with anything.

The sound is good, and we use the TVs own speakers. I am an audiophile, and I have a very special, high-end sound system in the same room, but it is for music only, and it is not suited to TV hookup. I would be the first person to complain if the sound from the TV was not good enough for television viewing. Movie sound is okay too, but I really should connect something to fill it out. My point here is to let you know the sound is fine, not something to complain about.

The only thing I would have Samsung change is the glossiness of the frame. This design would look better with a flat or satin finish. The glossy viewing screen is not the problem. It is just the surrounding frame that accentuates every little wave in the finish when reflecting light off-axis. This is an obvious design flaw which a good design department should have stopped early in the process. I am surprised Samsung allows this the get out the door. It does not do justice to what is now inarguably one of the best consumer television sets made so far.
